Our Story
At Advanced Audiology, our story begins with a simple belief: When we truly listen, we can help others hear their very best.
After six years working with several ear, nose, and throat groups in Indiana, Dr. Carrie A. Hill-Villanueva decided to follow her dream of creating a practice where compassionate care and advanced hearing solutions go hand in hand. On September 7, 2004, she opened the doors of Advanced Audiology in Franklin, Indiana, a practice built on the philosophy of “experience the difference,” which later evolved into our guiding principle:
“We listen so you can hear.”
For two decades, that philosophy has shaped everything we do. By taking time to understand each patient’s unique hearing concerns, we create personalized solutions that improve communication, confidence, and quality of life.
In September 2024, Dr. Hill-Villanueva, together with Dr. Sally A. Ware and our dedicated staff, proudly celebrated 20 years of service to the residents of Johnson County and surrounding communities. Over those years, Dr. Hill-Villanueva has worn many hats — wife to her best friend, mother to two amazing adults, mentor to audiology students, and innovator who introduced the Midwest’s first “drive-thru window” for convenient hearing aid care. She guided the practice through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and helped thousands of patients reconnect to the sounds that matter most.
In February 2024, after being diagnosed as legally blind, Dr. Hill-Villanueva transitioned to a new role as an audiology consultant and advocate for the DeafBlind community. On April 15, 2025, she passed the torch to Dr. Ware, who now leads Advanced Audiology with the same passion and commitment to exceptional hearing care that have defined our practice from the start.
Today, under Dr. Ware’s leadership, Advanced Audiology continues to serve patients from Franklin, Greenwood, Columbus, Bargersville, Shelbyville, and beyond — offering the latest in hearing technology and ongoing, personalized support for every stage of your hearing journey.
